About Me.
Wong Xin Hui Rachael is a student of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Diploma in Music Teaching with a major in piano studies. Rachael first begun learning the piano at 5 years old, when she joined the Yamaha Music School Course. Under the guidance of her piano teacher, Li Ti, she achieved a Distinction in her Grade 8 (2020) ABRSM Piano Performance exam as well as Yamaha Grade 5 (2021) Fundamental exam. she also won 3rd prize at the Singapore International Piano Competition (2020). Rachael made the decision to pursue her lifelong passion for music education at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where she also continues her piano studies under Lin Yi Chun's guidance.

My journey in the performing arts began in primary school, where I was always eager to explore different forms of creative expression. Whether it was dancing on stage, playing simple melodies on instruments, or participating in school performances, I found joy in every opportunity to perform. I was naturally drawn to movement, rhythm, and sound, and I loved the way the arts allowed me to connect with others and express myself in ways words couldn’t. Those early experiences planted the seeds of my passion for music and laid the foundation for the path I would later pursue more seriously
2017-2021
Secondary
Naval Base Secondary School
In secondary school, I took a significant step in my artistic journey by choosing to take O-Level Music—a decision that marked a turning point in how seriously I pursued music. At the same time, I didn’t let go of my love for dance. I joined a dance CCA, where I continued performing both in school and on public stages. Balancing music and dance allowed me to express myself in different but equally powerful ways, and each performance taught me something new about discipline, creativity, and connecting with an audience. It was during this time that I began to truly see the arts not just as a passion, but as a path I wanted to follow.
2021-2025
Diploma
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
My time at NAFA began with the Foundation Programme, which gave me a solid stepping stone into tertiary education. That year was incredibly helpful—it prepared me academically, creatively, and mentally for what was to come. When I began the Diploma in Music, I quickly realised that each of the three years would be a completely different experience.
Year 1 felt like a blissful start—everything was new and exciting, and I was eager to absorb as much as I could. Year 2, however, was a much tougher chapter. It pushed me to my limits both musically and personally, and there were moments when I truly struggled. But it was also the year I learned the most about resilience. Year 3 was a blend of the two—it brought moments of joy and clarity, as well as challenges that continued to shape me.
Over these four years at NAFA, I’ve grown not just as a musician, but as a person. I’ve learned how to express myself more honestly through music, how to collaborate, how to lead, and how to keep going even when things get tough. This upcoming recital is the culmination of all those experiences and lessons.

This recital marks a significant milestone—my final performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where I’ve spent the past four years growing as a musician, performer, and person. This recital is not just a culmination of the technical and artistic skills I’ve developed, but also a celebration of the journey, the challenges, and the joy of making music.
The program I’ve chosen reflects different aspects of that journey. It embodies classical elegance and joyful energy, a music that speaks to the stillness and mystery of the night, offering space for reflection and a beautifully lyrical and heartfelt work that reminds me of the emotional depth music can express.
